The Tactical Urbanism Program, BTactical, is a Broward Complete Streets Initiative to quickly implement multimodal safety improvements on the Broward Roadway Network. The Program is the result of recommendations and priority action items from the Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Action Plan (www.browardmpo.org/current-projects-studies/bicycle-pedestrian-safety-action-plan) and the Complete Streets Master Plan (www.browardmpo.org/complete-streets-master-plan). It involves quick build projects that are focused on existing safety, accessibility, and connectivity needs.

Currently, the Complete Streets team is working to identify and prioritize a list of potential quick build projects in the Broward region. By working with local governments and stakeholders, including solicitation of feedback from the community, the initial quick builds could lead to long-term projects. MPO staff anticipates work to begin on the first quick build project in mid-2021. As the planning and programming process moves forward, the team will continue to provide more information about the project location, upcoming public meetings, and volunteer opportunities to help build better streets.
