REQUESTED ACTION:
MOTION TO APPROVE: Interim Legal Counsel Appointment
WHAT THIS ACTION ACCOMPLISHES:
Approval of this item will secure the services of an interim general counsel that will support and report to the MTECC Board for all Board matters.
SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:
MTECC was created pursuant to Chapter 163.01 Fla. Stat. by Interlocal Agreement on May 31, 2022, as recorded with the Clerk of the Court for Broward County, Florida. A key element of MTECC is that it is a self-governing Board, self-funded by its members. At the October 13, 2022 initial meeting of the MTECC Board, the members are requested to appoint an Interim Legal Counsel.
MPO staff recommends approval of the item for the selection of the MTECC Interim Legal Board Counsel.
