MOTION TO APPROVE: The municipalities of Deerfield Beach, Hallandale Beach and Pembroke Pines as party to the ILA for the creation of MTECC and as established Non-Founding Members of MTECC.

Approval of this item will establish the cities of Deerfield Beach, Hallandale Beach and Pembroke Pines as non-founding members of MTECC.

Pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement (ILA) for the creation of MTECC, local governmental entities within Broward County may enter into and become a party to the ILA following approval of the MTECC Board, execution of the ILA, payment of the initial contribution as a non-founding member and approval of the governing body of the joining governmental entity. The municipalities of Deerfield Beach, Hallandale Beach and Pembroke Pines have received approval and support from their governing bodies to execute the ILA and become a member of MTECC.

Upon the approval of the MTECC Board, a letter will be prepared and submitted to the three municipalities, invoicing each for the initial non-founding membership fee in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000). 

Staff recommends approval of this item, to establish the municipalities of Deerfield Beach, Hallandale Beach and Pembroke Pines as Non-Founding Members of MTECC.
