Broward MPO's Public Outreach & Engagement Guidebook and Resident Guidebook
SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:
In October 2024, the MPO Board approved GPC Task Work Order No. 20 to develop a resource to support partners with their community outreach efforts and provide residents with a guide to navigate the project development process. The final documents that were created are the Public Outreach & Engagement Guidebook and the Resident Guidebook.
The purpose of the Public Outreach & Engagement Guidebook is to outline strategies for MPO partners to effectively engage the community in transportation planning initiatives, and to provide Broward residents with a guide to navigate planning processes—creating opportunities for more meaningful public involvement and two-way communication between planners and the community. The Resident Guidebook is a composition of frequently asked transportation questions for the public. The intent is to provide Broward's residents with the tools and knowledge to influence change in their neighborhoods and a deeper understanding of the transportation systems.
Both documents can be found on the Broward MPO website at: https://www.browardmpo.org/resource-documents. Staff will be available at the upcoming meeting to address any questions or comments.
