MOTION TO ELECT OFFICERS to Serve the Remainder of the Term, September 2022 Through June 2023:
A. Deputy Vice Chair, Board Officer; and
B. Executive Committee Member - If Necessary


The Chair opened the floor to nominations for Deputy Vice Chair. Board Members Ana Ziade, Yevette Colbourne, and Lawrence Martin were nominated. After a paper vote and ballots tallied by MPO General Counsel and MPO Staff Paul Calvaresi and Velma Hurtado, Ziade received 13 votes, Colbourne received 7 votes, and Martin received 5 votes. Board Member Ana Ziade was elected as Deputy Vice Chair.

With Member Ziade winning the Deputy Vice Chair position, the Executive Committee Member - Small Municipalities became vacant. The Chair opened the floor to nominations for Executive Committee Member - Small Municipalities. Board Members Felica Brunson, Joy Cooper, and Rich Walker were nominated. After a paper vote and ballots tallied by MPO General Counsel and MPO Staff Paul Calvaresi and Velma Hurtado, Brunson received 8 votes, Cooper received 8 votes, and Walker received 9 votes. Board Member Rich Walker was elected as Executive Committee Member - Small Municipalities.

The Broward MPO and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plan to jointly perform an interim roadway functional class assessment, with special emphasis placed upon public roads not currently eligible for federal aid funds from FHWA for disaster recovery and other purposes.
