MOTION TO RECOMMEND BROWARD MPO APPROVE an Amendment to the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2021 - 2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP): FM# 439891-5 SR-869/SW 10th Street Connector TSM&O Smart Work Zone
Peter Gies of MPO staff, Vanita Saini of FDOT, and Victoria Williams of FTE were available to answer questions. Committee members discussed the item including automated and connected vehicle technologies, evacuation routes, and State Road 869/Sawgrass Expressway construction impacts on traffic. The Broward MPO and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plan to jointly perform an interim roadway functional class assessment, with special emphasis placed upon public roads not currently eligible for federal aid funds from FHWA for disaster recovery and other purposes.
