Judge Oakley called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

FY 2018 Budget
FY 2018 Budget
The court discussed the FY 2018 Budget, including but not limited to:
a. Road and Bridge General Fund
Commissioner Precinct 4 Joe Don Dockery stated to the court he would like to look for a new way to fund the Road & Bridge General Fund. Currently there is $96,000 in this fund and one large purchase would deplete these funds.
Karen Hardin, County Auditor, stated to the court there are other options available, such as changing the leasing options on new equipment. But these changes would incorporated into the FY2019 budget.
Motion is made by: Commissioner Precinct 4 Joe Don Dockery, Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 2 Russell Graeter to approve funding the Road & Bridge General Fund as historically done, but look at future funding options for the FY2019 Budget.
Vote: 5 - 0 - Passed - Unanimously
The court discussed the FY 2018 Budget and the reduction in revenue the County will be facing due to new State Mandates.
Londa Chandler, Citizen, asked the court questions concerning the Sunset Point LCRA park and how that park is being taxed.
Tom Stephens, Citizen, asked the court if there were any other fines and fees the court would consider raising to assist in reducing the loss of revenue due to state mandates.

The court discussed the selection of members to the Salary Grievance Committee.
Judge Oakley opted to appoint 9 members and 3 alternates comprised from the previous grand jury list.

Motion was made by Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr., Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 3 Billy Wall to approve the names drawn for the Salary Grievance Committee.

The court discussed the purchasing policy for the remainder of the FY 2017 Budget.
Karen Hardin, County Auditor, suggested no more Line Item Transfers not already budgeted and no open P.O.s open in August and September.
Commissioner Precinct 4 Joe Don Dockery stated to the court this would be extremely difficult for Road & Bridge.
Motion is made by: Commissioner Precinct 4 Joe Don Dockery, Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr. to approve taking Line Item Transfers off the Consent Agenda for the months of August and September and placing these items on the regular agenda.
Vote: 5 - 0 - Passed - Unanimously
The court took no action concerning Open Purchase Orders.
