Plan is to repair if possible and be used by the Task Force as daily use and/or bait cars. If not able to be repaired and utilized said vehicles along with any current vehicles that are being replaced will be auctioned at a later date following proper auction approval procedures.
8. Discussion and/or action to accept ownership of Texas Citizen Corps training trailer which was purchased with 2008 Homeland Security Funds.
9. Discussion and/or action regarding approval for Constable Bindseil to apply to enroll in the Texas LESO Program (formally the 1033 program). The National Defense Authorization Act authorizes the Secretary of Defense to transfer excess Department of Defense personal property to Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Agencies with special emphasis given to counter drug and counter terrorism. The LESO Program allows LEA’s to receive DoD excess property. Two criterion must be met in order to be eligible for participation in the program. The first criteria is your agency must be a governmental agency whose primary function is the enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws. The second is you must have at least one full time compensated officer who is TCOLE certified and has the authority to arrest and apprehend.
