James Oakley, County Judge, requested a moment of silence in memory of Ronny Hibler.

Lisa Whitehead, Justice of the Peace #2, and Treyton Nelson, led the court in the Pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags.

The court took action regarding a proclamation celebrating March, 2019 as Youth Art Month in Burnet County.

Samantha Melvin, Art Director, announced to the court they will have a Pop Up Art Show at Happy Scoops Ice Cream Parlor on April 4, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7 pm.

Motion is made by: Commissioner Precinct 3 Billy Wall, Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr. to approve the proclamation celebrating March, 2019 as Youth Art Month in Burnet County.

The court presented Certificates for the Youth Art that is being displayed throughout the Courthouse, Herman Brown Free Library, and the Burnet Post Office.

Kelly Porter, Regional Planning Manager, presented to the court the 2045 Regional Arterials Plan.  The Burnet County portion of the plan will serve as an update to the thoroughfare planning components of the 2010 Burnet County Transportation Plan.

The court received a presentation on Pedernales Electric Cooperative topics, from Julie Parsley, CEO. PEC added 15,000 meters last year and scheduled for another 15,000 meters this year which equates to 55 meters sets a day.  PEC has a strong presence in Burnet County and strive for excellence and would love to work as partners with the county.  The court thanked PEC for response to emergency events and great customer service.  Judge Oakley, County Judge, is looking forward to partnering on approval from Tx Dot to get an official intersection at the new Marble Falls PEC building.  The old PEC building will be demolished and the 10 acres will be for sale.

The court discussed approval of a Resolution recognizing the 2018-2019 Burnet Girls Basketball Program.  Rick Gates, girls Basketball Coach, spoke on the girls behalf and complimented how well the girls conducted themselves on and off the court.  Damon Beierle, Commissioner Precinct 2, and Jim Luther, Commissioner Precinct 1, complimented the girls on their success.

The court presented Certificates for the Burnet Girls Basketball Program.

Glenna Hodge, Community Liaison for Casa Highland Lakes Area, discussed with the court the desperate need of Foster Parents for Burnet County.  Ms. Hodge reported the Casa team is having an interactive free training at the Herman Brown Free Library to attract more foster parents March 26, 2019 at 1:30.   Ms. Hodge requested the court to pass a Proclamation and certificates honoring the current foster parents.

 David Vaughan, City of Manager of Burnet, made a presentation and a funding request for the military airplane display and restoration project.  Mr. Vaughan requested in excess of 35,000.00 for funding.   James Oakley, County Judge, stated he would like to see $40,000.00 expended on this project from the PEC Capital credit fund.

Herb Darling, Environmental Service Director, reported an increase in fees and permits.  Mr. Darling reported with the court the debris has been removed from Granite Shoals. Mr. Darling reported the Road & Bridge crews from Precinct 1 & 2 did an awesome job on the cleanup.  The request for Public Assistance has been filed. FEMA is expected in Burnet County next week to begin their work.    

Herb Darling, Environmental Service Director, reported to the court the Subdivision order and OSSF order has been updated and posted on line.

Karrie Crownover, County Treasurer, presented the March 2019 Treasurer's report.  Mrs. Crownover reported the county received a VetRide donation in the amount of $1,607.47.

James Oakley, County Judge, reported Burnet County is hosting a media tour.

Joe Don Dockery, Commissioner Precinct 4, presented to the court the bids for construction of County Road 403, 404, and 423.  K.C. Engineering, Inc. has reviewed and tabulated three bids received March 19, 2019.  Mr. Dockery chose the low bid from Texas Materials Inc.,.  Mr. Dockery asked to use the residual funds from the 2016 tax notes and 2018 tax notes.  James Oakley, County Judge, saw the request as a lateral move.

Motion is made by: Commissioner Precinct 4 Joe Don Dockery, Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr. to approve the low bid from Texas Materials, Inc. for the construction of the Burnet County Roads 403, 404, &423 Project.

Billy Wall, Commissioner Precinct 3, reported to the court on an agreement to resolve County Road 345 issues.

Damon Beierle, Commissioner Precinct 2, updated the court that ESD 8 and Briggs Volunteer Fire Department are involved in law suit to collect equipment, this suit does not involve Burnet County or assets of Burnet County.

James Oakley, County Judge, reported Burnet County has entered into a Contract with David Floyd Construction on the recycle building.
