James Oakley, County Judge, called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM.

James Oakley, County Judge, announced the death of Peggy Jones.

The court discussed positions on any proposed legislation during the current legislative session.

The court discussed legislation specifically SB2 and HB 509.

The court discussed the appointment of Commissioner Jim Luther, Jr. to the Region K board in substitution for Commissioner Dockery.

Motion was made by County Judge James Oakley, Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 3 Billy Wall to approve the appointment of Commissioner Jim Luther, Jr. to the Region K board in substitution for Commissioner Dockery.

Vote: 5 - 0 - Unanimously

Herb Darling, Environmental Service Director, reported to the court his office has been busy.

Damon Beierle, Commissioner Precinct 2, reported that the Joppa Bridge has structural defenecies and erosion, currently the bridge is closed.

James Oakley, County Judge, gave an update on the renovation of the Historic Jail.

Stephanie McCormick, Court Coordinator, reported the Media Tour was successful.

The court discussed contracts, agreements or grants to be approved and/or ratified.

James Oakley, County Judge, reported to the court the county will receive a check in the amount of $350,000.00 for the grant application on the cleanup efforts from the October 2018 flood.

Joe Don Dockery, Commissioner Precinct 4, updated the court of the form DR-4416 to use for any catastrophic losses during the 2018 flood.

The court discussed Bids/Requests for Proposals/Qualifications. Discussion and/or action on bid/RFP openings or submitted bids.

Karin Smith, County Auditor, reported the county is exploring options of receiving bids electronically.

 

Judge Oakley, County Judge, reported to the court that HR scheduled a Human Resource meeting Tuesday, April 9, 2019.   Damon Beierle, Commissioner Precinct 2 will be replacing Russell Graeter, Commissioner Precinct 2, and adding Roxanne Nelson, Justice of the Peace 1, on the committee.

The court discussed the Consent Agenda.

Karin Smith, County Auditor, requested to let the Auditors office know if any department has any items for the auction.

Motion was made by Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr., Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 2 Damon Beierle to approve the Consent Agenda in its entirety.

Vote: 5 - 0 - Unanimously

Jim Luther, Commissioner Precinct 1, reported that County Road 120 will be paved.

The court discussed Calendar Review.

Joe Don Dockery, Commissioner Precinct 4, reported the county is in the process of setting up an account with Harbor Freight in Marble Falls.

James Oakley, County Judge, gave an update on the Recycle Building.
