COVID-19 Virus
The Court discussed items related to the COVID-19 virus. Judge Oakley stated there was an extension of time on the expenditure of funds. Karin Smith, County Auditor, stated all funds for Burnet County have been expended. Judge Oakley notified the Court of the positive COVID-19 cases at the Oaks Nursing Home affecting both residents and staff. These cases are believed to be the new strain, which is highly contagious, however Judge Oakley has not received the results from the testing. With the number of increased case counts, restaurants will be reduced to a 50% occupancy for establishments as defined within Governor Abbott's Executive Order GA-32. The Order has been posted to the Burnet County website. The vaccine is becoming available in Burnet County. Judge Oakley has been asked where people should go to receive the vaccine. The County is not responsible for the distribution or allotment of the vaccine, the State defines this. He suggests those with questions should contact their health care provider.
Comm. Dockery received a request from Chief Sander, Marble Falls Fire and Rescue, to provide electronic message boards, as they are preparing 3 locations in Marble Falls to administer the vaccine. Comm. Dockery also spoke with Chief Ingram, Burnet Fire Chief, who is planning on using the Community Center as a location for distribution of the vaccine. Chief Ingram has also requested the use of message boards.
Comm. Dockery informed the Court of Chief Sander being made Chair of the Homeland Security Task Force at CAPCOG.

Burnet County Transportation Plan
The Court heard a presentation from Ashby Johnson and discussed acceptance of the Burnet County Transportation Plan developed by CAMPO, Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. Mr. Ashby presented a version of the Burnet County Transportation Plan to Commissioners Court in November 2020. After working with Judge Oakley, adjustments have been made and a final draft has been completed. Additionally, the Highway 29 Project in Bertram has been restored after being one of the safety projects deferred last year.

Department Updates
Herb Darling, Development Services, gave an update on his Department including the year-end report for 2020, showing the Estimated Construction Value and Building/ Septic Permits issued in each Precinct for 2020.
Judge Oakley gave an update on the Maintenance Department. They continue working on multiple projects throughout the County.
Comm. Dockery stated the Assistance to Firefighter Grants is open. The grant deadline is February 12, 2021.
Comm. Beierle stated there is a pile of brush located at the jail which will be burned when conditions are favorable.
