Judge Oakley called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

Commissioner Dockery led the court in Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flags.

Londa Chandler spoke to the court reading a letter from Karah Chasteen, regarding the November 8th 2022 election. 

The court discussed canvassing of the November 8, 2022 General Election results for Burnet County. Doug Ferguson, Elections Administrator, gave the court the canvassing reports and stated that the votes and names matched. 

Motion is made by: Commissioner Precinct 4 Joe Don Dockery, Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr. to approve canvassing of the November 8, 2022 General Election results for Burnet County.

Vote: 5 - 0 Passed - Unanimously

The court discussed department updates. Doug Ferguson, Elections Administrator, informed the court that during the mid-term election there was a larger turnout than in prior years. The total turnout was 58% out of 36,000 voters for the mid-term election. Mr. Ferguson went over the report of how many votes were cast at each location and considered consolidating one location as the numbers were not high enough for that location.

Kelley Glaeser, County Auditor's Office, informed the court that Karin Smith, County Auditor, wanted to add the RCI Agreement for a fixed asset inventory.

Judge Oakley requested discussing Item a. Nathan Kight, Public Defender's Office, informed the court that this position would be an unpaid internship and would be no cost to the county with the right to terminate at any time with a 30 day notice given.

The court discussed the approval of a bond for Joe Don Dockery, Commissioner, Pct. 4. Vicinta Stafford, Chief Deputy Clerk, recommended to the court to approve this bond and to have another bond prepared in January to have Commissioner Dockery on the same schedule.

The court discussed granting an exemption to the vacation carryover limit for Jaclyn Milum. Sara Ann Luther, Human Resource, informed the court that Casie Walker could not be present and spoke on behalf of her. Ms. Luther stated there would be a little less than 30 hours carried over.

The court discussed department updates. Herb Darling, Development Services, informed the court that his office can breathe as there has been a slow down in real estate. Sara Ann Luther, Human Resource, complemented the treasures office and specifically Cindy Dalrymple, and Deanne Fisher for staying late to complete longevity checks as well as payroll and all bills. Commissioner Dockery thanked everyone that helped with the Precinct Luncheon. Sara Ann Luther, Human Resources, informed the court that she has still not received the full report from Evergreen. Ms. Luther is hoping to have the data back by the end of this year.
