2. Public Comments.  Any person with business before the Commissioner’s Court not scheduled on the   agenda may speak to the Court.  No formal action can be taken on these items at this meeting. Comments regarding specific agenda items should occur when the item is called.  There is a 2 minute speaking limit. 
 
3. Discussion and/or action regarding the designation of a member of the Burnet County Commissioners Court as the leader to conduct public meetings.  Further, said designated commissioner to be granted the authority to sign documents on behalf of the Court on matters voted upon in public.  Said authority shall also extend to any issues previously voted upon by the Court.  Said designation and authority to remain in place until suspension of County Judge James Oakley is resolved (Arredondo)
 
4. Discussion and/or action regarding the identification of a member of the Burnet County Commissioners Court to handle day to day business matters on behalf of the Court until suspension of County Judge James Oakley is resolved. Said designation shall include providing day to day management of all Burnet County Departments which reports to the Burnet County Commissioners Court (Arredondo)

Commissioner Dockery called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

Claire Nybro, addressed the court and asked the question, will a new Commissioner be appointed in the event that the Judge is not able to complete the duties. 

The court discussed the designation of a member of the Burnet County Commissioners Court as the leader to conduct public meetings.  Further, said designated commissioner to be granted the authority to sign documents on behalf of the Court on matters voted upon in public.  Said authority shall also extend to any issues previously voted upon by the Court.  Said designation and authority to remain in place until suspension of County Judge James Oakley is resolved.

Eddie Arredondo, County Attorney, addressed the court about the Judge suspension and explained how there are 4 Commissioners on the court and it only takes 3 for a majority vote. The Commissioners Court will continue as normal. He stated that the Commissioners need to make a decision on who will be filling in on the day to day business on behalf of the Commissioners Court.

Motion was made by Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr., Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 3 Billy Wall to designate Commissioner Dockery to be granted the authority to sign documents on behalf of the court on matters voted upon in public. Said authority shall also extend to any issues previously voted upon by the Court. Said designation of Joe Don Dockery and authority to remain in place until suspension of County Judge James Oakley is resolved.

Vote: 4 - 0 - Unanimously

The court discussed the identification of a member of the Burnet County Commissioners Court to handle day to day business matters on behalf of the Court until suspension of County Judge James Oakley is resolved.  Said designation shall include providing day to day management of all Burnet County Departments which reports to the Burnet County Commissioners Court.

Motion was made by Commissioner Precinct 2 Damon Beierle, Seconded by: Commissioner Precinct 3 Billy Wall to identify Joe Don Dockery Commissioner to handle day to day business matters on behalf of the Court until suspension of County Judge James Oakley is resolved. Said designation shall include providing day to day management of all Burnet County Departments will report to Commissioner Dockery.

Vote: 4 - 0 - Unanimously

Herb Darling, Developmental Services, stated they are the same numbers as the last meeting, no new updates.
