Discussion and/or action regarding a request by Burnet County to the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), to conduct a public hearing regarding the application by Asphalt, Inc., for a permit under the Highland Lakes Watershed Ordinance for an aggregate processing plant and quarry near Inks Lake (Beierle/Luther)

Motion is made by Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr., Seconded by Commissioner Precinct 2 Damon Beierle to approve request by Burnet County to the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), to conduct a public hearing regarding the application by Asphalt, Inc., for a permit under the Highland Lakes Watershed Ordinance for an aggregate processing plant and quarry near Inks Lake.

Discussion and/or action regarding the burn ban for the unincorporated areas of Burnet County (Beierle)

Discussion and/or action regarding an updated resignation letter from Burnet County Justice of the Peace Precinct #4 Debbie Bindseil requesting acceptance of resignation to be changed from midnight, February 8, 2025, to 3:59 p.m. on February 7, 2025, in order to effect a smoother transition for the swearing in of Hon. Frank Reilly. Any amendment must be subject to the ability to modify the bond of office to be issued by the Galloway Insurance company. Beierle/Bindseil)

Any amendment must be subject to the ability to modify the bond of office to be issued by the Galloway Insurance company.

Motion is made by Commissioner Precinct 2 Damon Beierle, Seconded by Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr. to approve modification to the Burnet County Judge application process due to the limited number of applications received to now be a forum Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the AgriLife Building, followed by the regular Commissioners Court on February 11, 2025. In this court there will be an agenda item to interview applicants, an agenda item to have an Executive Session, if needed, and an agenda item to vote on the new County Judge. All applicants will submit to criminal history background check. This action cancels the second forum and subsequent agenda item that would have been at the following Commissioners Court meeting.
