County of Burnet   {}      On this the 30th day of  June 2025, the Burnet County Commissioners Court met in regular session. The following members of the court were present:

Call to Order
Bryan Wilson, County Judge, called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m.
 
Item #2:
Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flags
Bryan Wilson, County Judge, led the invocation.
Pledges said.
 
Item #3:
Public Comments - Pursuant to Texas Government Code 551.007 (b), any person may make comment on any item not appearing on the agenda. Any comments made will not be addressed by the Commissioners Court during the Public Comments agenda item. Public Comments are limited to three (3) minutes per person.

Item #4:
Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding contracts, agreements or grants to be approved and/or ratified: (Wilson)
a. approval to apply for and sign resolution for a grant with Texas Indigent Defense Commission for FY 2026 Indigent Defense Improvement Grant for the North Hill Country Public Defender’s Office;
b. approval to apply for and sign resolution for a grant with Texas Secretary of State for FY 2025 Help America Vote Act (HAVA) for a Security and Efficiency Improvement Grant for the Burnet County Elections Office;
c. approval to accept a grant for VETRIDE in the amount of $50,000 from 2025-2026 Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Fund for Veterans General Assistance and acknowledge the grant period has changed to 7/1/2025-8/31/2026 (a period of 14 months).

Motion is made by Commissioner Precinct 4 Joe Don Dockery, Seconded by Commissioner Precinct 2 Damon Beierle to approve applying for and signing resolution for a grant with Texas Indigent Defense Commission for FY 2026 Indigent Defense Improvement Grant for the North Hill Country Public Defender’s Office.

Vote: 5 - 0 - Unanimously

 

Motion is made by Commissioner Precinct 1 Jim Luther, Jr., Seconded by Commissioner Precinct 3 Chad Collier to approve applying for and signing resolution for a grant with Texas Secretary of State for FY 2025 Help America Vote Act (HAVA) for a Security and Efficiency Improvement Grant for the Burnet County Elections Office.
