TITLE
Discussion of Disabled-accessible Parking in Downtown.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
The report is for information only and therefore no action is recommended.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Council requested information about disabled accessible parking in the downtown area. Staff has prepared a brief PowerPoint presentation (attached) that provides an inventory of the public parking lots in the dowtown, the total number of parking spaces, the number of disabled accessible spaces in each lot, and the total number of parking spaces in the right-of-way. Also attached is a City Council Report that was prepared by Karl Eberhard and submitted on September 25, 2015. This report provides a little more detailed information on the subject. The presentation also includes staff's recent discussions with the Disability Awareness Commission (D.A.C.) concerning accessibile parking in the downtown and code enforcement.
