TITLE
Discussion of potential measures to be placed on the 2018 ballot by Council including Transportation Tax and the Affordable Housing.
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Council discussion.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
During the budget retreat on February 13, 2018, City Council directed staff to prepare an agenda item for consideration of a potential affordable housing bond measure for the November 2018 election.
On April 10, 2018, staff presented the recommendations of the Citizens Transportation Tax Commission and an overview of affordable housing. Prior to direction from City Council, staff was to present survey results from Flagstaff citizens regarding a Transportation Tax and Affordable Housing Property Tax questions.
On May 22, 2018, staff presented information on bonding for transportation projects and the impact of the sales tax rates, interest earnings, construction inflation, financing costs, and timing of projects.
Attached are the two survey results which will be presented to the City Council on May 22, 2018.
