TITLE:
Consideration of Appointment: City Attorney.
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Re-appoint Sterling Solomon as the City Attorney for the City of Flagstaff.
Executive Summary:
Re-appoint Sterling Solomon as City Attorney effective July 5, 2019 for a three-year term. Article IV, Section 4 of the Charter requires the City Council appoint a City Attorney to be the chief legal advisor of all offices, departments, and agencies, and of all officers and employees in matters relating to their official powers and duties.
Financial Impact:
The salary and benefits of this position are currently budgeted.
Policy Impact:
The City Attorney provides legal advice in relation to policy for City Council and staff.
Connection to Council Goal, Regional Plan and/or Team Flagstaff Strategic Plan:
The City Attorney assists City Council and staff in the accomplishment of the City Council goals and objectives.
