This is an informational update for the City Council and Flagstaff community.
Executive Summary:
Over the past three years, the Flagstaff City Council declared two influential emergencies: the Climate Emergency (June 26, 2020) and the Housing Emergency (December 1, 2020). These emergencies facilitated the adoption of aggressive plans to accelerate action. The resulting Carbon Neutrality Plan and 10-Year Housing Plan are extensive and far-reaching frameworks for achieving the goals outlined in the respective plans. Additionally, the City Council adopted the Active Transportation Master Plan (November 2, 2022) which establishes a series of goals, policies, and strategies to support walking and biking in the Flagstaff community.
This informational update is intended to provide the City Council and Flagstaff community with a snapshot of the work that is needed over the next twelve months to support City commitments.
