TITLE:
Regional Plan Retreat - Review of Draft Agenda for May 2, 2025.
DESIRED OUTCOME:
Discussion only
Executive Summary:
On Friday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the City Council, Board of Supervisors, and City and County Planning and Zoning Commissions will meet in a facilitated retreat to review proposals for revising the draft Flagstaff Regional Land Use Plan. The purpose of the retreat is to review the proposals in a public meeting and request direction before public hearings begin.
Information:
The current plan, Flagstaff Regional Plan (FRLUP) 2030, Place Matters, was adopted in 2014. In compliance with statutory requirements to update the Plan every 10 years, the City and County have been working on this update since early 2022. The FRLUP is being revised to incorporate the over 2,400 comments from the 60-day public review, which was completed in December 2024, and additional staff testing for implementation concerns.
Additional public surveys and workshops are scheduled for the week of April 14 to inform the public about how public comments were incorporated into the plan. The surveys and open house information is available online at https://flagstaff-regional-plan-2045-flagstaff.hub.arcgis.com/pages/spring-2025-survey. The focus of this work session is to review the agenda for the May 2, 2025, joint retreat scheduled with County and City elected Supervisors and Council, and appointed Planning and Zoning Commissioners.
It is important to recognize that we are in the final stages of plan development and any major changes may impact budget and the timing of plan adoption.
