Consideration and Approval of Contract: Arizona Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network Mutual Aid Agreement
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the amended Arizona Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network Mutual Aid Agreement finalized and dated December 12, 2018
Executive Summary:
AZWARN is the states portion of a national network of Water and Wastewater Utilities that provide assistance during critical times for member Utilities. The City of Flagstaff has been a member of the AZ WARN since 2009. The amendments to this agreement change the agreement from a Inter-Governmental Agency to a Mutual Aid Agreement which now includes other private utilities. This agreement is part of the Water Services pre-planning for emergencies.
Financial Impact:
There are no mandatory costs associated with becoming or sustaining a membership in AZWARN.
Policy Impact:
Membership in AZWARN is part of the emergency pre-planning process that Water Services does to ensure the operation of the Water and Wastewater systems remains even during an emergency.
