City Council Meeting - FINAL
Meeting Date:
03/01/2022
Co-Submitter:
Stacey Brechler-Knaggs
From:
Heidi Hansen, Economic Vitality Director

Information

TITLE:

Consideration and Approval of Contract:  License Agreement with The James Agency on behalf of Northern Arizona University for Advertising Space at the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport.

STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Approve the License Agreement for the 18-month duration.

Executive Summary:

The Flagstaff Pulliam Airport was previously using a firm, Clear Channel, to handle all advertising for the airport terminal. When the agreement expired, the Economic Vitality Division determined it would be beneficial to manage the marketing and advertising program in-house. By doing this, the City will have more daily hands on communication with the businesses that are advertising at our airport, can create the look and feel of the marketing program that best suits our needs, manage the advertising revenues, and can create a more robust marketing program to assist our main objective of treating the airport as its own enterprise fund.

Financial Impact:

The City will receive advertising revenues and these revenues will be used for Airport operations.

Policy Impact:

None

Has There Been Previous Council Decision on This:

The Economic Vitality Director shared with the Council our desire to take our marketing/advertising program over during several airport updates and second parking lot discussions.
