Consideration and Ratification of Letter to Federal Delegation on SNAP benefits
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Retroactively approve the letter to the Federal Delegation
Executive Summary:
City staff received a request from Mayor Daggett to send a letter to the City's federal representatives highlighting food insecurity in our community. On Nov. 5, City staff sent a letter to the City's federal representatives that emphasized the increased demand food kitchens and other providers in our community are seeing due to the rising cost of living, the ongoing federal government shutdown, and the anticipated disruption of SNAP benefits in November. Due to the urgent nature of the request, the letter was sent on Nov. 5, 2025 and was placed on a future Council meeting agenda for retroactive approval by the Council.
