TITLE:

Consideration and Approval of Contract: Roofing Repair and Installation Services at Brannen Homes
 

STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:

  1. Approve the purchase for roofing repairs and installation through a cooperative purchase contract 1GP contract number 21-06P-02 with Progressive Roofing in the amount of $628,347.00; and
  2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the necessary documents.

Executive Summary:

The Housing Authority is responsible for the management and operation of 127 public housing units in the Brannen Homes neighborhood, located off Lone Tree in west Flagstaff. The units are inspected regularly to ensure compliance with federal health and safety regulations. It has been determined that new roofs are necessary at this time to maintain suitable housing conditions.  This contract is for roofing repairs and installation through a cooperative purchase contract with Progressive Roofing. 

Funds for this purpose are budgeted through the Housing Authority Capital Fund allocation.

Options and Alternatives to Recommended Action:

  1. Approve the purchase for professional roofing services with Progressive Roofing in the amount of $628,347.00;
  2. Do not approve the purchase;
  3. Direct staff to re-evaluate the procurement and return with alternatives of new direction; or
  4. Disapprove the purchase.

Background and History:

Maintenance and upkeep of public housing units is one of the basic responsibilities of the Housing Authority. This purchase will ensure public housing residents continue to live in safe and sanitary conditions. 

Purchasing staff has reviewed and confirmed the 1GPA agency contract to be valid, current and within scope of work, to be utilized for the request for professional services to assist in the Brannen Homes roof repair and maintenance project.
