TITLE
Discussion of a Resolution of the Flagstaff City Calling for the Federal Government to Adequately Fund National Parks.
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Council Discussion/Direction.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On December 5, 2017, the City Council passed Resolution 2017-39, a Resolution of the Flagstaff City Council opposing the proposed fee increase for Grand Canyon National Park. In addition, the Mayor and Council created a new Intergovernmental Priority to advocate against the fee increase proposed by the National Park Service.
On March 3, 2017, Mayor Evans requested that staff draft a resolution that calls for the Federal Government to adequately fund the maintenance of National Parks. Though Mayor Evans request is partially addressed in Resolution 2017-39, the attached draft resolution more directly speaks to the Federal Government funding maintenance of National Parks.
