Public Safety Ballot Initiative Presentation

The Citizen Committee provided their recommendation for a sales tax and bond to Council on May 26th to address public safety needs. City Council approved proposition 404 for a 0.5% (or half a penny for each dollar spent) sales tax to enhance public safety services and proposition 405 for a $40 million general obligation bond for public safety infrastructure and equipment on June 16th. City staff would like to continue communicating with the public about the identified needs to be funded with the sales tax and general obligation bond.
