EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

On July 19, 2016 United States Senator John McCain announced the formation of the Northern Arizona Military Advocacy Council (NAMAC) during a Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce event. As a result of federal regulations that restrict the marketing and promotion of military installations by military personnel for use by private industry NAMAC was created to act as an intermediary and promote economic development for Camp Navajo and other military installations in Northern Arizona.

Mayor Evans and County Supervisor Matt Ryan have met with staff members from Senator McCain’s Office and Chamber President, Julie Pastrick, to better understand NAMAC’s purpose and its effect on the City and County. Ms. Pastrick was appointed by Senator McCain to oversee the creation of NAMAC and will be at the November 6, 2017 meeting to discuss the organizations purpose and how the County and City can be a partner.
