TITLE:
Federal and State Legislative Priorities Update
DESIRED OUTCOME:
Obtain feedback and input from Council on the 2022 draft state and federal legislative priorities.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The draft 2022 state and federal legislative priorities detailed in the attached PowerPoint presentation represent an updated listing of the 2021 legislative priorities. City staff and lobbyists have made suggested updates to the legislative priorities based on the legislative landscape that we face in 2022, as well as accomplishments that have been achieved over the last year.
City staff and lobbyists are requesting Council input and direction on the draft state and federal legislative priorities. After this input is received, it will be incorporated, and a final version will be presented for Council approval at the January 4 Council Meeting. Once approved by the City Council, the 2022 legislative priorities will be used by City staff and lobbyists to guide their work throughout the year at both the state and federal levels.
