DESIRED OUTCOME:
Update City Council and the community on the status of the City's recycling program and operations.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City's Solid Waste Section has been operating the former Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at 1800 E Butler Avenue as a recycling transfer facility since May 2023. This presentation provides a brief history of the facility, a recap of recent events, updates on recycling outreach, behavior and contamination efforts, next steps, and a projected timeline.
