Ratification of Letter of Support: Inclusion of SNAP funding and flexibility in 2026 Farm Bill

STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Retroactively approve the letter.
Executive Summary:
In late April, 2026 House of Representatives passed a version of the 2026 Farm Bill which cements cuts to the SNAP program and sent it to the Senate for consideration. The City issued a letter of support for inclusion of SNAP funding and flexibility in 2026 Farm Bill to members of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. This letter is in line with the City's federal legislative priority on Federal Social Protection Programs.
