TITLE:

Consideration and Approval of Resolution No. 2018-51 and Intergovernmental Agreement:  A resolution approving an Intergovernmental Agreement between Pinewood Fire District and the City of Flagstaff on behalf of the Flagstaff Fire Department to fund a Regional Training Coordinator and participate in regional training of emergency services personnel.

STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Executive Summary:

In 2014 the City Council authorized the creation of the Greater Flagstaff Regional Training Coordinator position.  This IGA allows a 6th partner to join the consortium and assist in funding the position. (Flagstaff FD, Highlands FD, Ponderosa FD, Camp Navajo FD, Summit FMD)  An IGA is necessary to enable the participation of new partners in the regional training program.

Financial Impact:

The participants fund the Regional Training Coordinator on a per Firefighter methodology.  The addition of the Pinewood Fire District reduces costs to the other partners by $9,829.05. The Flagstaff Fire Department pays 44.5%  or $38,034 for it's per firefighter share of the $85,0000 total expense.  This position is funded in the FY2019 budget with offsetting revenue from the other partner agencies.
