The City Council provided direction to City staff to create a Citizen Bond Committee to consider three bond measure categories in infrastructure, housing, and climate action.  City Council members recommended members for the City Manager appointed ad-hoc committee.  These committee members began meeting in November 2021 and identified the twelve recommended priorities that will be presented to City Council today.   

 

The Citizen Bond Committee began meeting in November 2021 about the three bond measure categories in infrastructure, housing, and climate action.  The committee adopted a charter and identified a weekly meeting schedule.  City staff presented information, provided clarification, and answered committee members questions on each bond project.  A citizen bond committee webpage was created and the Public Affairs team provided information to the public through videos, advertising, and social media postings. 

Committee members considered their identified priorities, received input via a community survey, and completed a forced ranking exercise.  These tools became the foundation for the facilitated process where the committee reduced the $206 million dollar list of projects to the twelve recommended projects.

These twelve recommendations are being presented to City Council today to determine what bond projects, if any, will be placed on the November 2022 general election and to confirm how they will be categorized.
