TITLE:
Consideration and Approval of Contract: Approve the Contract with AZ Wastewater Industries, Inc. (AWI) in the amount of $187,942.52, including local fees and taxes, to Purchase and Install the CUES Portable Pipe Inspection System in the Wastewater Collections Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Van.
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
- Approve the Contract with AWI in the amount of $187,942.52, including local fees and taxes, to Purchase and Install the CUES Portable Pipe Inspection System for the Wastewater Collections CCTV Van; and
- Authorize the City Manager to execute the necessary documents.
Executive Summary:
S4-029, Wastewater Collections, an existing Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) van, is in dire need of its Envirosight camera equipment to be replaced and upgraded as it has been failing and has been down several times over the years. This unit is the only one of its kind in our fleet and heavily relied upon for the inspection of both our wastewater collection and stormwater collection systems. The CUES equipment to be purchased from AWI allows for the remote inspection of underground pipes, keeping staff out of these confined spaces and hazardous areas.

Options and Alternatives to Recommended Action:
- Option A: Accept the contract from AZ Wastewater Industries, Inc. as the State of Arizona's source for CUES equipment; or
- Option B: Continue to use our existing and failing CCTV equipment, resulting in costly repairs.
Background and History:
AZ Wastewater Industries, Inc. (AWI) is the Sole Source vendor for the State of Arizona for CUES equipment, which we have experienced as being reliable, user-friendly and who provide excellent local (Phoenix) customer support. As required under the Procurement Code, the information regarding the CUES equipment and retrofit installation from AWI was provided to Purchasing. Purchasing staff performed the required due diligence of AWI and has determined and approved that this is the sole source vendor for equipment in the state of Arizona.
