TITLE:
Consideration of Appointments: Building and Fire Code Board of Appeals
STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTION:
- Councilmember House to make one appointment.
- Councilmember Matthews to make one appointment.
- Councilmember Garcia to make one appointment.
- Councilmember Spence to make one appointment.
Executive Summary:
The Building and Fire Code Board of Appeals consists of seven citizens who meet when necessary. The Board holds hearings on appeals related to applications and interpretation of City building and fire codes. The Board of Appeals has no authority to interpret the administrative provisions of the code, nor is the Board empowered to waive requirements of the code.

These are voluntary positions and there is no budgetary impact to the City of Flagstaff.

Options and Alternatives to Recommended Action:
- Appoint four Board members: By appointing members at this time, the Building and Fire Code Board of Appeals allows the group to meet and provide recommendations to the City Council.
- Postpone the action to allow for further discussion or expand the list of candidates.
