Consideration and Approval of Contract:  First Amendment to the Contract for Purchase of Materials with Mountain States Pipe & Supply Co. in the amount of $549,587.27 for Itron Encoder Receiver Transmitters (ERT) Endpoints and related parts and supplies.
 

1.  Approve the First Amendment to the Contract for Purchase of Materials with Mountain States Pipe & Supply Co. in the amount of $549,587.27 for Itron Encoder Receiver Transmitters Endpoints and related parts and supplies for a total contract amount of $749,587.27; and
2. Authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents.

The City currently has a Contract for Purchase of Materials with Mountain States Pipe & Supply Co. This First Amendment will be for the purchase of Itron Encoder Receiver Transmitters (ERT) Endpoints and related parts and supplies. The request is to increase the spending limit to accommodate FY2024-25's purchase of Itron ERTs and Endpoints associated with the Radio Read Program, Water Distribution and WIFA Grant funds available. ERT's are required with any newly installed water meter, whether for new development or for maintenance reasons or as an upgrade. These are part of the Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) network, allowing Management Services the ability to collect water meter reads, simply by driving by the water meter during their billing cycles.

The First Amendment will be funded by Radio Read Program in the amount of $549,587.27. The account number for the Radio Read Program is 202-08-370-3170-0-4461 with FY2024-25 total budget of $1,045,050.

The City Council approved the original Contract for Purchase of Materials on April 6, 2021. 

1. To approve the First Amendment with Mountain States Pipe & Supply Co; or
2. Not approve the First Amendment and direct staff to procure these necessary items from another source.

The City has been utilizing the Itron ERTs for many years. The Itron ERTs system reduces issues caused when different types or manufacturers of meters are used. Mountain States Pipe & Supply Co. was procured through a Sole Source Justification.
