Land  Acknowledgment
 
The Flagstaff City Council humbly acknowledges the ancestral homelands of this area's Indigenous nations and original stewards. These lands, still inhabited by Native descendants, border mountains sacred to Indigenous peoples. We honor them, their legacies, their traditions, and their continued contributions. We celebrate their past, present, and future generations who will forever know this place as home.

Public Comment

At this time, any member of the public may address the Commission on any subject within their jurisdiction that is not scheduled before the Commission on that day. Due to Open Meeting Laws, the Commission cannot discuss or act on items presented during this portion of the agenda. To address the Commission on an item that is on the agenda, please wait for the Chair to call for Public Comment at the time the item is heard. (Three minutes maximum per individual)

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Approval of July 10, 2024 Minutes

Motion to approve Minutes as is or approve with amendments.

GENERAL BUSINESS
 
A.
North Country Healthcare Presentation by Elyse Overman, Health Benefits Advocate

Ms. Elyse Overman is a member of the Outreach & Enrollment Team at North Country Healthcare. She will offer a presentation on personalized assistance to individuals applying for affordable health insurance and/or SNAP benefits (food stamps). She would like the Commission to be informed about the services and is happy to take referrals.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
 
A.
Indigenous Peoples Day (IPD) Planning

Update and input discussion. IPD is on October 14, 2024.
 
B.
Indigenous Commission October 2, 2024 Meeting Reschedule

Staff liaison Rose Toehe will be out of town and would the IC consider a reschedule of the meeting.
