Land Acknowledgment

The Flagstaff City Council humbly acknowledges the ancestral homelands of this area’s Indigenous nations and original stewards. These lands, still inhabited by Native descendants, border mountains sacred to Indigenous peoples. We honor them, their legacies, their traditions, and their continued contributions. We celebrate their past, present, and future generations who will forever know this place as home.

Public Comment

At this time, any member of the public may address the Commission on any subject within their jurisdiction that is not scheduled before the Commission on that day. Due to Open Meeting Laws, the Commission cannot discuss or act on items presented during this portion of the agenda. To address the Commission on an item that is on the agenda, please wait for the Chair to call for Public Comment at the time the item is heard. (Maximum three minutes per individual)

GENERAL BUSINESS (Possible Vote)
 
A.
Voices Unheard Event

The Commission will discuss and decide the future of “Voices Unheard: Breaking the Silence – a Community Gathering for Prevention, Strength, and Healing." The event is meant to educate Northern Arizona residents on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives crisis and raise awareness of its possible precursors of violence, threats, stalking and harassment.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
 
A.
The City Clerk's Office to Conduct a Review of the Boards and Commissions Program

At the direction of City Council, the City Clerk’s Office will be conducting a review of the Boards and Commissions program to identify opportunities to improve the structure, responsibilities, and overall effectiveness of boards and commissions.
 
B.
Final Indigenous Peoples Day (IPD) Celebration Update

There will be an update on the IPD schedule of events for October 12, 2026.
