CALL TO ORDER
Chair Mandino called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENT

At this time, any member of the public may address the Commission on any subject within their jurisdiction that is not scheduled before the Commission on that day. Due to Open Meeting Laws, the Commission cannot discuss or act on items presented during this portion of the agenda. To address the Commission on an item that is on the agenda, please wait for the Chair to call for Public Comment at the time the item is heard.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Approval of the minutes from the regular meeting on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
 

Moved by CJ Lucke, seconded by Mary Norton to approve the minutes from the June 26 meeting.

Vote: 5 - 0 - Unanimously

GENERAL BUSINESS
 
A.
Discussion: 

Case No. PZ-24-00008: Request for a work session with the Planning & Zoning Commission to discuss the City’s proposed amendment to the Zoning Code to modify requirements for Concept Plan review, Accessory Structure and Uses, Home Occupations, Basements, Basement Garages, Building Stem Walls, Crawl Spaces, and Podium Parking.

Case No. PZ-24-00010:  Request for a work session with the Planning & Zoning Commission to discuss the City’s proposed amendment to the Zoning Code to require specific timeframes for the review of Zoning Map Amendment applications and to update the protest provisions for Zoning Map Amendments in response to recent state legislation.

Case No. PZ-24-00134:  Request for a work session with the Planning & Zoning Commission to discuss the City’s proposed amendment to the Zoning Code to modify requirements for Accessory Dwelling Units in response to recent state legislation.
 
Tiffany Antol, Zoning Code Manager, presented three proposed amendments and answered questions from the commission.
 
B.
Discussion: Flagstaff Regional Plan Update
Sara Dechter, Comprehensive and Neighborhood Planning Manager, presented on the status of the Regional Plan and ansswered questions from the commission.
 
6.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS TO/FROM COMMISSION MEMBERS
Vice Chair Norton shared that the public is encouraged to review and provide feedback on the Greater Observatory Mesa Trail Plan.  There is an in-person public meeting on September 19 and a virtual Public Survey available on-line until October 18.
