MINUTES
 
1.
CALL TO ORDER

Council members and staff met at 6:30 a.m. at Flagstaff City Hall and traveled to Phoenix. At 8:30 a.m. The Mayor, Councilmembers and staff meet with State Lobbyists Todd Madeksza at the Arizona League of Cities and Towns building and then walked to the meeting location.

Others present:  City Manager Barbara Goodrich; City Attorney Sterling Solomon

Traveling (6:00 a.m.) and Meeting (1st meeting at 9:30 a.m.) with Arizona State Legislators.
At 9:30 a.m. the Mayor and Councilmembers met with Representative Arlando Teller and discussed short-term rentals, affordable housing, Highway User Revenue Funds (HURF), and Wayfair/digital goods.
 
At 10:00 a.m. the Mayor and Councilmembers met with Representative Myron Tsosie and discussed short-term rentals, HURF, Heritage Funding, and Wayfair/digital goods.
 
At 10:30 a.m. Mayor Evans and Mr. Bryson met with Senator Sylvia Allen and discussed SB1225 as it relates to the State Budget, affordable housing, and short-term rentals.
 
At 11:00 a.m. the Mayor and Councilmembers met with Representative Walt Blackman and discussed SB1225 as it relates to the State’s budget, and State pre-emption related to affordable housing and short-term rentals.
 
A break was held from 11:30 a.m. through 1:00 p.m.
 
At 1:00 p.m. the Mayor and Councilmembers met with President Karen Fann and discussed Wayfair/digital goods, the State’s budget and funding, affordable housing, and short-term rentals.
 
At 1:30 p.m. the Mayor and Councilmembers met with Senator Jamescita Peshlakai and discussed affordable housing, short-term rentals, and HURF funding.
 
At 2:00 p.m. the Mayor and Councilmembers met with Representative Bob Thorpe and discussed SB1225, Heritage Funding, and HURF funding.

ADJOURNMENT

The Flagstaff City Council Special Meeting with State Legislators of April 10, 2019, adjourned at 2:30 p.m. at which time the Mayor and Council travelled back to Flagstaff.
