- Orange Avenue Property Donation to FDOT

SUBJECT:
Resolution No. 15-R01, authorizing the execution of a City Deed providing for the donation of 315 SF of land, situated at the northeast corner of US Highway One and Orange Avenue, to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
SUMMARY:
FDOT has agreed to construct a right-turn lane for westbound traffic on Orange Avenue at the US Highway One intersection. The construction will require a triangular piece of land owned by the City of Fort Pierce having dimensions of 22.29' and 28.23' to be donated to FDOT. The corner clip of land will be utilized for sidewalk reconstruction and utility relocations such as the relocation of the traffic controller and traffic mast arm. The addition of this right-turn lane will help to alleviate US Highway One traffic delays by allowing signalization timing to be coordinated with the Orange Avenue eastbound traffic.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval.

Deny land donation and leave the intersection as is.
