City Commission Regular Meeting
- Meeting Date:
- 06/01/2020
- Re
- 20-R26
SUBJECT:
Resolution 20-R26 authorizing the city to resume public hearings.
SUMMARY:
Due to COVID-19 and as part of the Declaration of Local Emergency, the City Commission adopted Resolution 20-R20 which suspended all public hearings. The existing state of emergency does not expire until July 8 and the suspension of public hearings and the advertisement for them ends on that date. Under the existing resolution, and assuming the state of emergency is not extended by the Governor, the earliest a legislative public hearing could be held is July 20. The earliest for any quasi-judicial hearings is August 3.
As things begin to slowly reopen and in an effort to allow projects and city business to move forward, this resolution will allow legislative public hearings to resume on June 15 and quasi-judicial hearings on July 6.
