Approve request to reduce the Building Department lien in the amount of $23,340.00 against 1005 Ohio Avenue., Fort Pierce, FL 34950 - Parcel ID Number: 2415-703-0102-000-3 owned by Lisa M. Chase Pacheco, of the same address, to $672.74 payable in 60 days. 

SUMMARY:

The request for reduction is made by Ms. Lisa M. Chase Pacheco, owner of the property.  She hired a contractor to replace her AC and the contractor applied for the permit but it was not issued.  After receiving the violation letter, she tried to contact the contractor, by phone and certified letter, but was unable to make contact.  The case eventually went before the Special Magistrate, and after some time the owner obtained the permit and the necessary inspection.  At the Massey Hearing before the Special Magistrate, she agreed to staff's recommended reduction to $672.74 payable in 60 days.

RECOMMENDATION:

The Special Magistrate, having heard the request of the owner and testimony from staff, recommends reducing the lien to $672.74 payable in 60 days.  If not paid within the 60 days, the lien will revert to the original amount of $23,340.00.
