SUBJECT:

Approve request to reduce the Building Department lien in the amount of $2,350.00 against 217 N 10th Street, Fort Pierce, FL 34950 - Parcel ID Number: 2409-520-0004-000/6, owned by Ermith Lazare, 3406 Menendez Ave., Fort Pierce, FL 34950 to $1,232.74 payable within 6 months.

SUMMARY:

The request for reduction is made by Ermith Lazare, owner of the property.  The permit addressing the violation expired, and fees accrued.  The permit was eventually renewed and received a final approved inspection, which stopped the fines.  At the Massey Hearing before the Special Magistrate, the applicant agreed to a reduction in the amount of $1,232.74, payable within 6 months, as recommended by the Special Magistrate.

RECOMMENDATION:

The Special Magistrate, having heard the request of the owner and the testimony from staff, recommends reducing the lien of $2,350.00 to $1,232.74, to be paid within 6 months.  If this amount is not paid, the lien will revert to the original amount of $2,350.00.

ALTERNATIVES:

Deny the request.
Make alternative arrangements.
