Hearing Resolution No. 21-R27 - 427 N 14th Street #3(rear)

SUBJECT:

Resolution No. 21-R27 determining that the structure located at 427 N 14th Street, Building #3 (rear) is unsafe, has been condemned in accordance with the International Property Maintenance Code as adopted by the City Commission and should be demolished. A hearing to determine this matter is scheduled before the City Commission on June 21, 2021.

SUMMARY:

On September 4, 2018 the City Commission did not take any action on Resolution No. 18-R41 as the owners of the property presented a building permit to rehabilitate both Building #2 and Building #3 on the property. On January, 21, 2021, Shaun Coss, Building Department Coordinator advised staff that Building #2 was complied in June 2020, but that the permit for Building #3 expired in 2018 and was never renewed.

Due to no additional activity and in accordance with the City Code of Ordinances, a hearing shall be scheduled to allow the owners, agents, or any person, firm or corporation having a lien on, or interest in, the building / structure to show cause, if any, why a building / structure should not be condemned and its removal or destruction required.

This Resolution is to set the hearing date only and instruct the City Clerk to notify all interested parties of their right to be heard. No testimony or evidence will be presented at this time.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve Resolution No. 21-R27 to establish the hearing of the matter on June 21, 2021.

Select an alternate date.
