SUBJECT:
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance No. 21-028 creating Chapter 12, Section12-7 of the Code of Ordinances establishing proof of residency requirements for candidates seeking the office of commissioner and/or mayor-commissioner. FIRST READING
SUMMARY:
The Mayor and City Commission adopted, as part of the strategic plan, the goal to review and consider several aspects of election reform. At the Conference Agenda on July 12, the commission discussed establishing proof of residency as a component of the desired reform.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt the ordinance.
ALTERNATIVES:
Adopt with modifications or do not adopt.
