SUBJECT:
Resolution No. 14-R13 authorizing the City to apply for and accept a second grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) for completion of the construction of the Melody Lane Fishing Pier.
SUMMARY:
Staff seeks Commission approval to apply to the FIND for grant funds to complete the construction of a public fishing pier on Melody Lane. Pier will be 10’ wide by 220’ long with a 26’ x 26’ platform on easternmost end and include a fish cleaning station.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Commission approval of Resolution 14-R13 and to direct the Mayor to execute the FIND grant application and Resolution 14-R13 in support of it.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not apply for the grant to secure the funds needed to complete the construction of the fishing pier.
