SUBJECT:
Approve Change Order Increase of $8,400.00 awarded to KIB Construction Corp to include the installation of flooring for the emergency rehabilitation project at 1114 Colonial Road, Fort Pierce.
SUMMARY:
Approve Change Order Increase of $8,400.00 awarded to KIB Construction Corp to include the installation of flooring for the emergency rehabilitation project at 1114 Colonial Road, Fort Pierce. The project initially called for the resident to take care of the missing flooring; however, after removing the kitchen counter, the contractor found that the flooring in the kitchen was not good (due to begin wet for a long period of time), and had to remove this floor area. The resident is unable to afford flooring for the entire home, and so we are asking for approval to include covering the floor area. The total rehab cost would be increased from $48,800.00 to $57,200.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve change order increase of $8,400.00 to include the installation of flooring so that resident can return home.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not approve change order increase of $8,400.00.
