SUBJECT:
Approval of a twelve (12) month Lease Agreement between the City of Fort Pierce and the Marina View Partners Holding LLC, for a vacant lot at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Melody Lane to provide additional free parking for the public in downtown Fort Pierce.
SUMMARY:
To address the need for additional public parking in downtown Fort Pierce, staff discussed with the owner of the vacant parcel, located at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Melody Lane, leasing the property for a temporary parking solution. It is anticipated the parcel will yield 61 parking spaces, including 4 handicapped spaces. If approved, the city will pay rent on a quarterly basis for a total amount of $5,050.11. The amount is equal to the total of the 2021 taxes paid to the City of Fort Pierce for the parcel shown and depicted in lease Exhibit "A" (Proposed Lease Area).
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval.

Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.

OTHER INFORMATION:
This is a new contract with the current owner to lease the vacant property, located at intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Melody Lane for a temporary parking solution. This expense will be payment of the annual tax bill on a quarterly basis.The 2021 tax bill for the City of Fort Pierce was $5,050.11.
