SUBJECT:

Fort Pierce Infrastructure Surtax Citizens Oversight Committee 2020-2021 Annual Report.

SUMMARY:

As a result of the November 2018 passage of the Infrastructure Surtax, the City of Fort Pierce, via Resolution Number 19 R06 appointed seven citizens to the Fort Pierce Infrastructure Surtax Oversight Committee. The mission of the Committee is to determine that all Surtax proceeds received by the City are expended in a manner consistent with Florida Statute Section 212.055 (2) and with the final ballot language of the referendum. 

Staff provides regular updates to the Committee and prepares an Annual Report for their review. Due to the impacts of COVID-19, no Annual Report was prepared for the 2020 expenses. Staff has combined the 2020 and 2021 Annual Reports into one document for simplicity. 

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends Board Acceptance and Approval of the Fort Pierce Infrastructure Surtax Citizen Oversight Committee 2020-2021 Annual Report.

ALTERNATIVES:

Staff to proceed as directed by the City Commission
