SUBJECT:
Approval to enter into an agreement with FDEP relating to Grant Agreement No. G0417 which provides funding for the construction and operation of a stormwater treatment system to be located at Veterans Memorial Park.
SUMMARY:
FDEP has agreed to provide funding in an amount not to exceed $345,500 which is to be applied to the estimated $579,400 cost of the stormwater improvements to be constructed at Veterans Memorial Park. These improvements, which are in addition to the previously approved FDEP TMDL Grant improvements, include construction of four (4) bio-swales with associated plantings, construction of two (2) Floc log systems to aid in the treatment of off-site stormwater discharge, and construction of pervious sidewalks and parking areas. Once competed these improvements will aid in the treatment of the run-off from the 44.1 acre drainage basin by reducing the suspended solids, phosphorous, nitrogen, and organics in the stormwater run-off that ultimately discharges into the Indian River Lagoon.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends execution of the FDEP 319 Agreement No. G0417.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not execute agreement and construct said improvements.

OTHER INFORMATION:
The FDEP Grant is a 40% match providing $345,500 towards the estimated overall construction cost of $579,40. The required $233,900 match will encumbered from our Stormwater Management Utility Fund Account No. 403-4300-538-3490.
